If you're searching for a wool shop in Llandysul, you've come to the right place. Melin Teifi is a woollen mill in Drefach Felindre, and part of the Museum of the Welsh Woollen Industry (the National Wool Museum). Our traditional Welsh wool is high-quality and beautifully made, but we still make sure that it's budget-friendly. The wool mill is a national heritage site, as is the whole village. Not only can you come and buy some of our traditional wool, but you can even get a glimpse of our wool while it's in production and observe some of the traditional methods that we use.
About Melin Teifi
Melin Teifi has a history stretching back to the 1980s. Owners Raymond and Diane Jones began their careers in the industry with apprenticeships at Cambrian Mills, which is now the National Wool Museum. However, after working in the mills for 18 years, Cambrian Mills closed in 1982. Raymond and Diane decided to carry on working in the industry, opening their own workshop not far from the museum. In 1984, they took up residence in the museum and began running Melin Teifi, an independent business, alongside the museum. The mill is now an important part of the museum's exhibition, showing visitors the traditional methods of wool making.
